Role Overview The ATR Quick Upgrade Captain operates JSX aircraft safely, efficiently and in full compliance with all regulations while delivering exceptional service on every flight. Typical schedules average 3-5 legs per day over 14-16 days a month, and the airline aims to return crew to their home base every night. After three to six months in the right seat, JSX supports the transition to the Captain's seat with training and mentorship. Key Responsibilities Pre-flight preparation Review key flight details in Traxxall, including maintenance status, NOTAMs, fuel loads, weather and routing Discuss departure and arrival strategies with the Captain, including diversion planning Perform all required pre-flight checks, safety procedures and flows In-flight operations Operate the aircraft in full compliance with FAA regulations, JSX standard operating procedures and industry safety standards Maintain real-time communication with Mission Control (Dispatch), Ground Operations, ATC and the Flight Attendant Serve as the secondary voice to the Captain in decision-making Post-flight duties Assist with quick-turn tasks including light cabin tidying and supporting the Flight Attendant to protect on-time departures Log any maintenance in Traxxall and communicate critical updates to Mission Control Other duties Take part in recurrent training and performance evaluations Assist with baggage handling or other duties at smaller airports where ground support is limited Represent JSX to the highest standards of safety, professionalism and Customer service What Makes a Successful Candidate Adaptable in fast-paced environments, adjusting to changing priorities, weather and operational needs Detail-oriented from pre-flight checks to final shutdown A critical thinker who makes sound, safety-first decisions Customer-centric and communicative with crew, ground teams and Mission Control Proactive, safety-focused and entrepreneurial Requirements High school diploma or GED Minimum 2,500 total flight hours Minimum 500 multi-engine hours Minimum 100 hours within the last 12 months No FAA violations, accidents, incidents or suspensions No significant training or check-ride failures Legally authorised to work in the United States on a full-time basis; JSX cannot sponsor employment-based visas such as H-1B or TN Licences & Qualifications Valid FAA pilot certificate appropriate to the aircraft and operating position held Current and valid ATP or Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate Current and valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate Current and valid FCC Radio Operator's Permit Current and valid driver's licence and passport Experience Preferred: 3,000+ hours total time Preferred: turbine aircraft experience What We Offer Pay: $150.00 per day plus per diem throughout training, rising to $259.00 per day plus per diem on the line, with a guaranteed 14-day minimum monthly salary, plus Productivity Pay and quarterly bonuses Health benefits: coverage from the first of the month following the start date, with medical plans from $110 per month, 100% employer-paid dental and vision, up to $2,100 a year in HSA contributions, and short- and long-term disability cover at no cost Travel benefits: free non-revenue standby travel on JSX plus deeply discounted standby travel on other major domestic and international airlines for you and qualifying immediate family 401(k) match: 50% of your first 8% Paid time off: flexible PTO plan Pilot perks: uniform allowance for new hires with annual replenishment, EFB (iPad) issued at no cost, company-paid KCM badge and Jumpseat/CASS participation, and incentive pay for flying beyond the 14-16 day average or beyond an 8-hour average duty day Additional Information Additional responsibilities may be assigned, and duties may change when circumstances dictate, such as emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technical developments. Requirements

  • Review key flight details in Traxxall, including maintenance status, NOTAMs, fuel loads, weather and routing
  • Discuss departure and arrival strategies with the Captain, including diversion planning
  • Perform all required pre-flight checks, safety procedures and flows
