Role Overview The Assistant Flight Instructor supports the Chief Flight Instructor and Deputy Chief Flight Instructor in ensuring flight training quality and curriculum standards at the Air India Flight Training Organisation (FTO) across its locations, and in maintaining security and safety standards in training. The position is located in Amravati, Maharashtra. Key Responsibilities Deliver flying training within the privileges specified in Aircraft Rule 1937, Schedule II, Section Q Adhere to the approved syllabus set out in the Training & Procedure Manual Ensure the quality of training given to all trainees within the prescribed period Closely monitor trainee progress and work as a team to ensure safe flying operations Help plan, coordinate and monitor the student pilot programme Brief student pilots, including long briefs, pre-flight briefs and post-flight briefs Maintain and process student pilot flight reports on time Assist the CFI, Deputy CFI and Flight Instructors in monitoring and developing the personal qualities and discipline of student pilots Always adhere to the standard operating procedures of the FTO Conduct flight simulator training as scheduled by Operations Keep current with DGCA regulations and revisions to the Training & Procedure Manual, SOPs and the Flight Operations Bulletin Ensure proper documentation before and after flying and simulator exercises Complete eGCA tasks on time Bring slow-progress trainees, or any other trainee difficulties, to the notice of the Chief Instructor or CFI without delay Requirements Leadership: strong leadership and motivational ability Judgement: decision-making agility and strategic planning Communication: strong communication and interpersonal skills Safety: commitment to safety Flexibility: adaptability
Requirements
- Deliver flying training within the privileges specified in Aircraft Rule 1937, Schedule II, Section Q
- Adhere to the approved syllabus set out in the Training & Procedure Manual
- Ensure the quality of training given to all trainees within the prescribed period
- Closely monitor trainee progress and work as a team to ensure safe flying operations
- Help plan, coordinate and monitor the student pilot programme
- Brief student pilots, including long briefs, pre-flight briefs and post-flight briefs
- Maintain and process student pilot flight reports on time
- Assist the CFI, Deputy CFI and Flight Instructors in monitoring and developing the personal qualities and discipline of student pilots
- Always adhere to the standard operating procedures of the FTO
- Conduct flight simulator training as scheduled by Operations
- Keep current with DGCA regulations and revisions to the Training & Procedure Manual, SOPs and the Flight Operations Bulletin
- Ensure proper documentation before and after flying and simulator exercises
- Complete eGCA tasks on time
- Bring slow-progress trainees, or any other trainee difficulties, to the notice of the Chief Instructor or CFI without delay
