Place in the organization:

The Airport Operations Coordinator reports to the Disruption Control Centre Manager (DCC Manager).

Responsibilities:

The Airport Operations Coordinator is responsible to the DCC Manager for:

Disruption management:

  • Overseeing disruption management;
  • Proactive avoidance of EC261;
  • Communication and follow up in case of flight disruptions, follow up on recovery procedures, based on EU261/2004 regulation;
  • Notifications of possible disruptions towards Ground Handling Companies and Hotel/Transportation providers;
  • Liaising with duty managers in case of disruption;
  • Tracking the disruptions in internal systems;
  • Controlling and solving DCS related issues (i.e. missing PNL, change lid);
  • Communication about operational limitations (i.e. seat limitations);
  • Leading On Duty Agents (Airport Operations Assistants).

General Ops tasks (out of disruption times)

  • On time monitoring of operational messages and delay codes, follow up with non-complying stations;
  • Changing aircraft types and ordering seat changes (if necessary);
  • Dealing with ad-hoc Inadmissible passenger cases;
  • Training newcomers

Meetings:

Participating in:

  • Disruption Control Centre Team meeting – attend
  • Daily Operations Control meeting – attend
  • Daily third party HOTAC&GT provider meeting – attend

Authorities of the function:

The Airport Operations Coordinator has the authority to:

  • Authorize HOTEL amenities and related costs in case of disruption;
  • Authorize free rebooking in case of disruption.

Skills and competencies:

  • Excellent communication and organization skills;
  • Flexible approach and ability to remain diplomatic;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to work in 12 hours shifts;
  • Solid decision-making;
  • Leadership skills.

Minimum requirements:

  • Fluent English (written and spoken);
  • College or university degree,
  • Computer proficiency.

Training requirements:

  • Various DCC & GO technical trainings.
