About the programme

Start your aviation maintenance career through a structured apprenticeship programme designed to prepare you for the internationally recognised EASA Part-66 Category B1.1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.

The two-year training programme combines classroom-based education at Lycée Privé Emile Metz with practical airline and maintenance experience. You will develop the technical knowledge and hands-on skills required to work in aircraft maintenance within an international aviation environment.

After successfully completing all required Part-66 basic modules, the objective is to offer you a permanent employment contract. Following an additional two years of practical on-the-job training within the Maintenance department, you may apply for the EASA Part-66 Category B1.1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence, recognised throughout the European Union and beyond.

Main objective

Successfully complete the theoretical and practical training required to work towards an EASA Part-66 Category B1.1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.

Training programme

The programme includes theoretical lessons and practical experience in areas such as:

  • Mathematics and physics
  • Electricity and electronics
  • Digital technology
  • Materials and aircraft components
  • Aerodynamics
  • Human factors
  • Aviation legislation
  • Aeroplane structures and systems
  • Turbines and aircraft engines
  • Practical aircraft maintenance skills

Requirements

To be considered, you must:

  • Hold a high school diploma, CATP, technical secondary education qualification or completed apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, electromechanics, electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics or an equivalent technical field
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English
  • Have a good basic knowledge of mathematics and physics
  • Demonstrate logical and analytical thinking
  • Show excellent attendance, punctuality and professional behaviour
  • Be motivated, committed, hardworking and flexible
  • Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Enjoy working in an international, dynamic and varied environment
  • Have a genuine interest in aviation and aircraft maintenance

Knowledge of Luxembourgish, German and/or French is considered an advantage.

A Category B driving licence is also considered an advantage but is not mandatory.

Employment and salary

You will be employed under an adult apprenticeship contract for the first two years while completing the required training and gaining relevant airline experience, technical knowledge and practical skills.

Gross monthly apprentice salary: €2,398.49 to €2,818.75

Candidates who successfully complete all EASA Part-66 basic modules may be offered a permanent employment contract. After completing the required additional on-the-job experience in the Maintenance department, you may become eligible to apply for the EASA Part-66 Category B1.1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
