About the Company AHK Air Hong Kong Ltd is a Hong Kong-based all-cargo airline flying the A330 in support of the DHL Express network, with a small number of dedicated charter flights operated on behalf of Cathay Cargo. Role Overview AHK is recruiting experienced airline pilots as First Officers on the A330 fleet, based in Hong Kong. Positions Available Hong Kong Permanent Resident (HKPR) pilots: AHK continues to recruit HKPR pilots with previous airline experience as First Officers onto the A330 fleet. Pilots previously Hong Kong rated on the A320 and/or A330 are preferred. Non-HKPR pilots: to meet growing business demand, AHK also accepts applications from non-HKPR pilots willing to relocate to Hong Kong. Subsequent employment is subject to approval by the Hong Kong Government authority. Requirements Valid ICAO Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL) together with a frozen ATPL. Minimum 3,000 hours total flying experience. Minimum 1,000 hours jet experience. Valid multi-engine instrument rating. Current Class 1 medical certificate. ICAO Level 4 fluency in spoken English. Documentation of receipt of a Hong Kong Government recognised Covid-19 vaccination course, including the third (booster) dose for those eligible. Hong Kong Permanent Resident status is preferred, but applications from non-Hong Kong residents willing to relocate are also accepted. A can-do attitude and positive outlook that fits the existing agile, flexible and proactive pilot workforce. Training A330 type rating training is conducted by AHK's partners Cathay Pacific or CAE. A330 recurrent training is conducted in-house by AHK. Career Progression First Officer 1: one year under probation. First Officer 2: promotion after a total of two years of service. Senior First Officer: promotion usually after a total of three years of service. Command: selection driven by operational requirements and assessed individual suitability, in seniority order and subject to fleet manning needs. Flying Operations Normal operations support the DHL Express network, with most flights departing the Hong Kong hub between 03:00 and 05:00 local time and arriving at outports two to four hours later. Aircraft remain at outports during the day, then fly back to Hong Kong late in the evening. Cargo is predominantly DHL Express freight and AHK is highly focused on on-time performance. AHK also operates a small number of dedicated charter flights on behalf of Cathay Cargo. Roster and Crew Rest Steady blocks of days on / days off cycles, offering a reliable roster and a good work/personal life balance. Each work cycle consists of one to three sectors each night, reserve duties, and recurrent simulator or ground training when due. Target monthly flying rate is 55 hours. To support fatigue mitigation, AHK provides quality airport-convenient hotel accommodation from 11 hours prior to the start of the first duty event in each work pattern. Basing and Domicile All AHK pilot positions offered are Hong Kong based. Pilots are required to pay Hong Kong tax and are responsible for any other taxes arising from their own circumstances. Compensation Projected annual earnings for an entry-level First Officer 1 are approximately US$140,000, assuming the normal productive flying target of 55 block hours per month is met. Subsistence expenses incurred while performing duties away from Hong Kong are covered.
