About the Company The A220 commercial aircraft programme is headquartered in Mirabel, in the greater Montreal area of Quebec, Canada. The Airbus Canada Training Centre conceives, builds and delivers flight training and flight operations support so that Airbus aircraft are operated safely, efficiently and effectively, and the team is organised to promote autonomous cross-collaboration and collective learning. Role Overview The A220 programme is looking for a Type III Pilot Instructor to join its Customer Services organisation in Mirabel, representing Airbus Canada in front of customers, operators and authorities. You will work with teams across the world and can develop expertise in various fields and roles, including management and project positions. As Type III Pilot Instructor you act as Type Rating Instructor and flight instructor for Airbus Canada, providing line training and line checking on the Airbus A220, simulator training and checking (mainly in Dorval, Canada), support to the TFOS (Training & Flight Operations Services) community, and support for office activities on demand. Key Responsibilities Conduct the best possible training and checking according to your qualifications within Airbus Canada Training, to ensure safe and efficient entry into service and operation of the Airbus A220 (BD-500): in flight (Initial Operating Experience), in the simulator/FSTDs, and in the classroom or equivalent, such as a virtual classroom Work on different projects on demand within the frame of TFOS Represent Airbus Canada Training and the manufacturer in front of the customer, supporting the customer especially during the flight period to ensure entry into service and safety Take a proactive role in identifying potential problems and finding solutions Act as team leader during Initial Operating Experience, coordinating with the Airbus Canada team and with the airline Ensure standardisation, development and management tasks during your career with Airbus Canada Maintain and upgrade your competences in line with your qualification Licences & Qualifications ICAO Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) aircraft issued by EASA, TCCA or the FAA Valid EASA TRI, FAA Flight Instructor Aircraft, or TCCA Instructor Appointment issued by a Canadian operator on the BD-500 Valid Class 1 Medical in accordance with the respective ATPL requirement (EASA, TCCA or FAA) Minimum English Language Proficiency rating of 4, and fluent English Low Visibility Operations qualification Hold or have held an ETOPS qualification Experience Minimum 5,000 hours as a pilot Minimum 3,000 hours on large jet aircraft above 50 t MTOW Minimum 1,000 hours as Captain on Airbus aircraft Minimum 500 hours of instructor experience in a full flight simulator on large aircraft Minimum 500 hours as Captain assigned to conduct LIFUS/IOE A significant part of the instructor experience obtained must be initial type rating oriented Current and experienced as Captain and Flight Instructor on the BD-500 Significant commercial airline experience Evidence-Based Training / Competency-Based Training assessment expertise is required Project management mindset Examiner experience, managerial experience and flight safety experience are each an asset What We Offer Financial rewards: attractive salary, annual bonus, group insurance plan, pension plan and share purchase plan Work/life balance: hybrid working policy based on operational needs, on-site cafeterias and a highly competitive holiday policy Wellbeing and health: Employee Assistance Programme, discount programme, on-site medical service, access to a public shuttle between Laval (Montmorency metro station) and Mirabel, and a carpooling application Individual development: upskilling and development prospects with unlimited access to more than 10,000 e-learning courses, certifications, accelerated development programmes and national and international mobility Additional Information Company: Airbus Canada Limited Partnership. Requirements

  • Conduct the best possible training and checking according to your qualifications within Airbus Canada Training, to ensure safe and efficient entry into service and operation of the Airbus A220 (BD-500): in flight (Initial Operating Experience), in the simulator/FSTDs, and in the classroom or equivalent, such as a virtual classroom
  • Work on different projects on demand within the frame of TFOS
  • Represent Airbus Canada Training and the manufacturer in front of the customer, supporting the customer especially during the flight period to ensure entry into service and safety
  • Take a proactive role in identifying potential problems and finding solutions
  • Act as team leader during Initial Operating Experience, coordinating with the Airbus Canada team and with the airline
  • Ensure standardisation, development and management tasks during your career with Airbus Canada
  • Maintain and upgrade your competences in line with your qualification
  • ICAO Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) aircraft issued by EASA, TCCA or the FAA
  • Valid EASA TRI, FAA Flight Instructor Aircraft, or TCCA Instructor Appointment issued by a Canadian operator on the BD-500
  • Valid Class 1 Medical in accordance with the respective ATPL requirement (EASA, TCCA or FAA)
  • Minimum English Language Proficiency rating of 4, and fluent English
  • Low Visibility Operations qualification
  • Hold or have held an ETOPS qualification
  • Minimum 5,000 hours as a pilot

  • Minimum 1,000 hours as Captain on Airbus aircraft
