Senior Aircraft Mechanic

POSITION SUMMARY: The Airframe &amp; Powerplant Mechanic is responsible for the day to day aircraft maintenance activities, including aircraft preservation and letter checks. This is an experienced-level position that reports to the Maintenance Supervisor in the Maintenance Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: • Reads, understands and interprets applicable maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing and /or replacing components. • Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components. • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining good communications, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management. • Assumes responsibility for ensuring that Aircraft Maintenance functions are completed in accordance with Federal regulations as well as Company policies and procedures. • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. • Performs storage requirements, to include servicing, lubrication and inspection of airframe in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals. • Diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems in order to determine cause of defect. • Performs aircraft rigging requirements per applicable maintenance manuals when applicable • Familiar with aircraft Illustrated Parts Breakdown for identifying replacement materials and components. • Operates Ground Support Equipment necessary for completing assigned task. The outdoor settings include parking lots and airplane runways. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Occasionally subject to varying inside and/or outside temperatures, which may include extreme heat (temperatures above 100 degrees) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
