Ethiopian Airlines careers
Ethiopian Airlines is the national flag carrier of Ethiopia. The carrier is also fully owned by the government, as it is the only shareholder of the company. Ethiopian Airlines was founded in 1945. A year later, the airline started its operations. Interestingly enough, the Ethiopian government owned the airline, but Trans World Airlines managed and operated the carrier. Ethiopian Airlines and TWA’s relationship would end in the late 1970s and the African carrier would operate under its own direction. The airline is a member of Star Alliance when it joined the airline alliance in 2010. Ethiopian Airlines is based in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa. Its hub is also located in the capital’s airport, Bole International Airport. Ethiopian flies to more destinations in Africa than any other carrier, meaning it is the largest carrier in Africa. In June of 2018, Ethiopian Airlines took delivery of its 100th aircraft, a Boeing 787-9. It became the first carrier in Africa to operate a total of 100 airplanes in its fleet. Ethiopian Airlines fleet consists of mostly Boeing aircraft, but the airline operates Airbus and Bombardier planes as well. As of 2019, Ethiopian Airlines has 108 aircraft. They serve 125 passenger and 44 cargo destinations all around the world. Ethiopian Airlines is also regarded as one of the safest African airlines while also receiving praise throughout recent history for its excellent management, profitability and passenger satisfaction. Brilliant customer service, great on-time performance and a fairly young fleet are also one of the key features of the airline that are recognized by aviation experts worldwide. If you wish to join and create The New Spirit of Africa and you are not afraid of an exotic challenge, consider a career at Ethiopian Airlines. There are career options available for Pilots, Cabin Crew, and Engineers responsible for maintenance.
