airBaltic careers

airBaltic is the national flag carrier of Latvia. It is the largest airline in the Baltics. The airline was founded in 1995, with a joint venture between SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) and the Latvian state. Operations started the same year when on October 1st, a Saab 340 made the first passenger flight for airBaltic. In 2003, the first Boeing 737 joined its fleet and the next year airBaltic began operating from Vilnius. It flew to 5 destinations from the beginning, covering mostly regional flights around the Baltic Sea. airBaltic has a main hub at Riga International Airport and two secondary bases in the two other Baltic capitals – Vilnius and Tallinn. airBaltic runs a hybrid business model – it operates both as a low-cost carrier while still being able to provide clients with a full business class service. The airline is one of the most punctual airlines in Europe, winning multiple awards for their punctuality and posting one of the best On-Time Performance percentages in the whole world as well. Recently airBaltic began phasing out its Boeing 737 fleet, which operated in the airline for more than 15 years. The last Boeing 737 will fly in autumn of 2019. The popular narrow-body jet will be replaced by the new Airbus A220-300. airBaltic provides a career opportunity to work in one of the newest aircraft in the world! As of 2019, airBaltic operates 34 aircraft in its fleet, which flies to more than 70 destinations, mainly focused on routes in Europe. The airline has also signed many codesharing agreements with airlines from Europe. While the carrier faced financial struggles, throughout the early 2010s recently airBaltic completely turned their financial situation around. airBaltic is posting record passenger and profits numbers and is set to expand even more. So, if you are looking for a career opportunity in one of the fastest rising airlines in Europe, airBaltic is offering career opportunities for Pilots, Cabin Crew and Flight attendants and aircraft engineers!
