Belcan is looking to recruit an Operations Support Team Member for our aerospace client. This role involves managing tooling, consumables, and calibrated equipment to support production operations. It requires coordination with various departments, procurement responsibilities, and involvement in improvement projects. The position also demands strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for controlling and managing cutting tool stock levels, as well as overseeing the regrind process to ensure tools are maintained and available when needed. In addition, you will manage consumables and chemical stock levels to support ongoing production requirements.
You will ensure that all calibrated tooling is compliant with relevant standards and properly maintained, acting as a key interface between the calibration team and operations to facilitate smooth communication and workflow. Part of your role will include raising purchase orders for all tooling and maintenance requirements, ensuring timely procurement and availability.
You will provide lineside support to production, helping to resolve blockers and offering assistance to maintain operational efficiency. Collaboration with the facilities and maintenance departments will be essential to ensure adherence to agreed service level agreements (SLAs), meet delivery requirements, and enable new requests as needed.
You will also support capital expenditure (CAPEX) initiatives, rate ramp-up activities, and facility improvement projects, contributing to the continuous development of the workplace. Leading involvement scheme projects will be part of your responsibilities, encouraging innovation and engagement across teams. Additionally, you will assist with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) topics to promote a safe and compliant working environment.
Required Skills & Competencies
This role requires working collaboratively within a dedicated team to plan and prioritize workloads effectively. Maintaining strong relationships with both customers and suppliers is essential. You will need to demonstrate innovation and problem-solving abilities, show clear direction and purpose in your work, and maintain a high level of drive and commitment.
