JOB SUMMARY: To identify and correct malfunctioning jet, turboprop, and reciprocating multi-engine aircraft mechanical components and systems. Performs annual and progressive inspections as well as modification work on customer aircraft. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: <ol> <li> Performs a variety of diagnostic and mechanical duties on one or more jet and/or turboprop, aircraft models involving diagnoses of malfunctions and required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft mechanically for flight and delivery to customer. Requires thorough knowledge of aircraft engines, mechanical systems, and components on all assigned aircraft. <ul> <li> Checks, corrects or replaces a variety of complex aircraft assemblies, landing gear systems, air conditioner system, pressurization system, and optional equipment installations. </li> <li> Repairs or replaces engine components and accessory items such as fuel control units, fuel injection system, air bleed system, oil and fuel pumps, starter/generators, and hydraulic and vacuum pumps. </li> <li> Requires knowledge of annual and progressive inspection procedures set forth in aircraft maintenance manuals. Description/Overall purpose of the Job UK Military Flying Training System (Rotary Wing) B2 Certifying Engineer, Shawbury Reports to UK MFTS (RW) Maintenance Operations Manager Shawbury <ul><li>The B2 Licensed Engineer is responsible for the certification of line, non-routine maintenance and repair on Airbus H135/H145 rotorcraft.</li><li>Type training will be provided for a suitable candidate.</li></ul> The main responsibilities of the post holder will be: <ul><li>Provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations.</li><li>Accomplishment of maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by nominated LAE Supervisor.</li><li>Work as a team leader and to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.</li><li>Completion of maintenance, including avionic and electrical systems. </li><li>Replacement of avionic line replaceable units, requiring simple tests to prove their serviceability.</li><li>Supervision of avionic and electrical fitters and the certification of their work.</li><li>Conduct off-aircraft avionic and electrical technical work in Av workshop as required.</li><li>Also required to assist in day to day running of the aircraft Hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.</li></ul> The post holder would ideally have the following Knowledge and Skills: ESSENTIAL <ul><li>Must have thorough knowledge of helicopter avionic and electrical systems.</li><li>Knowledge of specialised test equipment relating to avionic and electrical systems.</li><li>Must have up to date knowledge of :</li><li>CAA regulations, particularly Pt 145, Part M Continued Airworthiness Management (CAM)</li><li>Flight/Airport Operations</li><li>Aircraft Line Maintenance</li></ul> DESIRABLE <ul><li>Knowledge of UK Military Aviation and UK MFTS.</li><li>Experience with SAP and ERP software. </li></ul> We require the post holder to have the following Education, Qualifications or special training: ESSENTIAL <ul><li>CAA Part 66 B2 Licence.</li></ul> DESIRABLE <ul><li>Type Rating and experience H135. </li></ul> The post holder should have the following experience: ESSENTIAL <ul><li>3 years experience in a certifying role.</li><li>Experience of Flight Operations and Line Maintenance.</li></ul> DESIRABLE <ul><li>Experience of Airbus Helicopters products.</li><li>Experience of Military Aviation.</li></ul> Key performance indicators: <ul><li> Maintain aircraft availability levels of &gt;98% at Shawbury (including deployments).</li></ul> Other requirements: TRAVEL <ul><li> Required to work shifts as part of normal working routine.</li><li>Required travel between Shawbury, Valley and areas dictated by Operational requirements (Deployments on a 3 weekly cycle).</li></ul> Additional requirements: <ul><li>Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and eligible for SC clearance.</li><li>"Applicants must meet any/all requirements of Export Compliance Regulation's."</li></ul> The Reward In joining the Airbus family, you will play a critical part in delivering the most efficient helicopters for its customers, who serve, protect, save lives and carry passengers in demanding environments.
