Tasks

You will be primarily responsible for developing structural assemblies for subsonic/supersonic and hypersonic flights. You will be a part of our engineering team and interact with all engineering disciplines to resolve new issues as they arise. It is a unique project with unique opportunities for skill and experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Independent analysis task performing
  • Structural, structural / thermal analysis and sizing of aerospace structures, airframe or aeroengine
  • Definition of sizing maneuvers in concert with aerodynamics, control law, mission
  • Estimation of mass distribution
  • Preliminary sizing of assemblies with rational assumptions on external loads
  • Able to provide internal loads of subcomponents for sizing
  • FEM modeling and analysis
  • Structural optimization
  • Vibration and frequency response analysis
  • Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
  • Analysis tools development
  • Preparation of technical reports and presentations
  • Continuous exchanges with suppliers
  • Assist in the development of manufacturing, integration, and test processes and procedures
  • Certification and qualification process support

Requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • BS., MS., in an Aerospace or a related discipline
  • Required experience in a Structural/ Mechanical Engineering (in Space/ Aerospace will be advantage): BS – 8 years, MS – 6 years
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace structural design
  • Understanding of light weight structure architecture and design principles
  • The knowledge of material science and structural mechanics
  • Strong understanding of hand calculation methods, ability to perform sizing with classical calculation methods, understanding of failure modes and interactions
  • Strong understanding of flight loads (maneuvers and gust), ground loads
  • Proven experience with Flight, Loads and Structural requirements, calculation, reporting, certification (CS23/CS25/STANAG 4971 subparts B, C and D or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of loads selection, definition, and combination with load factors
  • Proven ability to undertake structural, thermal, and coupled analysis
  • High Experience in FEA with Nastran, from build model to analysis, postprocessing, debugging
  • High experience is stress hand calculation methods
  • Experience in CAD systems
  • Strong understanding of aerospace project stages
  • Good communication skills, proactive attitude, and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work to strict timescales as part of an integrated, multidiscipline team, as well as autonomously
  • The ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment are required.

  • Knowledge of continuum and solid mechanics
  • Knowledge of applied mathematics and physics
  • Understanding of hypersonic flight physics
  • Experience in Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience of Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis

  • Experience of laboratory, ground, and flight test
  • Knowledge of GVT performing
  • Experience of CFD (Star CCM+)

Language

  • Knowledge of the English language is required;
  • Knowledge of the French or German language is an advantage.
