Job description

Are you passionate about aerospace technology? Do you like working in a multicultural and creative environment? Then Destinus could be the right place for you!

Destinus is developing hypersonic vehicles for commercial transportation applications. Our Company utilizes the Agile matrix model. Every member of the engineering team will participate at least in one Squad and one Chapter. The Squad is a multi-disciplinary team that brings together different subject matter experts into a co-located working team focused on solving a single mission. The Chapter is the backbone that holds it together; it’s a community of experts with specific competencies or disciplines learning from one another, growing their skillset, and building the standards so that all squads can benefit from a robust and consistent application of that craft.

In your role of Flight Dynamics Engineer, you will belong to the GNC Chapter. As part of the GNC Chapter, you will have a central role: you will be primarily responsible of the vehicles Guidance, Navigation and Control logics and algorithms for the autonomous flight operations of multiple Destinus vehicles (from flight prototypes to commercial transportation applications). You will contribute to the multi-disciplinary design of the Destinus Flight Segment (in particular on avionics, flying qualities and propulsion aspects) and you will interact with the Destinus Ground Segment (in particular on operations and mission safety aspects). You will be a part of our engineering team and interact with all engineering disciplines to resolve new issues as they arise.

Tasks

To lead the guidance, navigation and control logics definition

  • To lead the GNC architecture definition and GNC algorithms design
  • To prototype the GNC software for implementation of real-time solutions in the flight control system
  • To manage GNC requirements development and maintenance
  • To contribute to the verification and validation plans including implementation, test, integration, operations and post-flight
  • To contribute to the development of Destinus capabilities in the state-of-the-art of modelling, GNC functional engineering simulation and analysis
  • To contribute to the flying qualities analysis of trim, stability and controllability collaborating with the Aerodynamics Chapter and the Mission Chapter
  • To collaborate with the mission on the concepts of operations, trajectories design and post flight analysis
  • To collaborate with the Avionics chapter on the design, development and selection of hardware solutions, taking "make or buy" decisions
  • To support the System Chapter to develop and maintain system budgets
