GOL Airlines careers
Grupo Aurea, a Brazilian conglomerate, established GOL, the Brazilian airline in 2000. GOL’s full name is Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. A year later, at the end of 2001, GOL commenced its first commercial flight from Brasilia to Sao Paolo. The airline grew rapidly and by the end of 2018 had more than 35% of the domestic and 9.5% of the international passenger markets. Subsequently, GOL became the largest domestic and third largest international airline in Brazil. GOL has hubs in Brasilia, Rio De Janeiro, São Paulo–Guarulhos, São Paulo–Congonhas, and Fortaleza-Pinto Martins. GOL’s route also grew rapidly. To illustrate, it served every state capital of Brazil since and it was the first airline to do so. As of 2019, GOL has over 60 destinations in Brazil and internationally and the airline uses 121 aircraft in its fleet. It purely operates Boeing 737s with various variants present in its fleet. Previously, the airline operated some Boeing 767 wide-body jets. They were retired in 2011 and GOL operated a narrow-body aircraft only fleet ever since. After acquiring Varig in 2007, GOL became one of the largest airlines in Brazil by fleet size as well. GOL currently is not associated with any of the established alliances as they prefer to work in codeshare agreements to broaden their horizons. But they were seeking to join the Oneworld alliance to compete with a rival South American airline in 2010. As GOL’s position shifted, the talks between the two parties broke down. GOL is recognized as one of the most innovative companies in Brazil and not only in the aviation business. It was one of the first airlines which allowed passengers to check-in online and it was also one of the biggest e-commerce operations in Brazil in the early 2000s. If you share the same innovative, creative and brave values as GOL – apply for a career in the airline! GOL always offers career options to Pilots, Flight Attendants and Engineers.
