Air New Zealand careers
Air New Zealand is the flag carrier of New Zealand. Established by a treaty between the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand in 1940, the main purpose of the company was to transfer cargo, passengers and mail between the Tasman Sea. The airline was called TEAL back then, but when the New Zealand government took over the majority stake in the airline, the government renamed it to Air New Zealand. The airline is based in Auckland and has hubs in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington. Air New Zealand also has set its focus on cities such as Los Angeles and Sydney. The airline was recognized as the best airline in the world in 2010 and 2012 by ATW Global Airline Awards. The airline operates 110 aircraft, including turboprops, which are operated domestically. Air New Zealand flies to more than 30 international destinations around the world. It is also a part of the Star Alliance since 1999. The airline is famous for its unique liveries, with tributes to the Buckingham Palace, Lord of The Rings movies and a special livery for the New Zealand’s national rugby team, All Blacks. All of the liveries include a koru, which in the Māori culture represents new life, growth, strength and peace. Air New Zealand partnered up with Boeing to try fuel alternatives and in 2008 the airline flew a Boeing 747 with a mixture of biofuel. With the airline trying to be as innovative as possible and always promoting its Kiwi heritage, there is a reason why it is New Zealand’s top employer. That is why a career in Air New Zealand means you get to work in the best environment possible for you! Career options are available for Pilots, Cabin Crew members, Engineers and other MRO specialists. If you wish to grow your career at Air New Zealand, now is your chance so do not hesitate to apply!
