Air India careers

Air India is the flag carrier of India and is fully owned by the Indian government. Currently based in New Delhi and flying out of its hub in Indira Gandhi International Airport, the airline serves over 90 destinations worldwide. Air India currently owns and leases 125 aircraft, varying between various Airbus and Boeing models. One of the Tata Sons established the airline in 1932, as Air India started out as airline that provided mail service and was named Tata Airlines. Their fleet consisted of two aircraft and the company managed to make an $830   profit in the first year of operations. After World War Two ended and India gained independence, Tata Airlines became public and was renamed into Air India. At the same time, Air India announced a new mascot to promote the brand – the Maharajah. The mascot became renowned around the world for his fun and quirkiness and ever since has allowed Air India to conduct a lot of unusual, yet very effective advertising campaigns. The airline was also the first carrier in Asia to establish a jet service, with its purchase of Boeing 707s and also the first all-jet airline in the world. Most notably, the airline also operated several Boeing 747 types, before retiring the last 747 in 2008. In 2007, Air India and Indian Airlines were merged to form one company, which retained the Air India name. After enduring financial struggles throughout the decade, Air India managed to post profits and consequently, join Star Alliance. Currently, Air India owns two subsidiary airlines: Air India Express and Alliance Air. As Air India remains a full-service carrier, the two subsidiaries provide a wider range of options for passengers, while also providing career opportunities at Air India! As the company is regaining its ground in the region, it is expanding and is offering career opportunities! Air India offers career options for Pilots, Cabin Crew and Engineers.
