Air Astana careers
Air Astana is the national flag carrier of Kazakhstan and is the biggest airline in the country. The airline has 2 main operating hubs in Almaty International Airport and Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, with over 60 destinations internationally and domestically. Air Astana is a joint venture between Kazakhstan’s sovereign wealth fund and BAE Systems, a British company. The two current shareholders, BAE Systems and the Kazakhstani government agreed to launch Air Astana in 2001. A year later, in 2002, Air Astana took off on its maiden voyage with a leased Boeing 737 aircraft. In 2003, the company declared its first profitable year, only a year after commencing operations. One more year later, after Air Kazakhstan confirmed its bankruptcy, Air Astana used the opportunity to expand even more and opened new routes domestically and most importantly, internationally. With new routes to such cities as Dubai, Frankfurt, Istanbul and London, the carrier expanded massively. The first three aircraft to join the airline’s fleet were Boeing 737s, with Fokker 50s and three Boeing 757s added later on. As of 2019, Air Astana operates a fleet of 33 Airbus, Boeing and Embraer aircraft of an average age of about 8 years. So, if you’re planning a career at Air Astana, there is a high chance you will fly one of those aircraft! In the future, the airline plans to add 10 more aircraft, as it currently has ordered new Boeing 787s, Airbus A320neos and Embraer E190s, used on domestic flights. Air Astana has won 6 consecutive Best airline Central Asia and India awards by SkyTrax. It was also rated a 4 star airline in 2010. Join one of the most ambitious airlines in Asia and fly From The Heart Of Eurasia. Career options are available for Pilots, Cabin Crew and Engineers on the ground.
