Aer Lingus careers
The flag carrier of Ireland, Aer Lingus is the second largest airline in Ireland after Ryanair. The airline was formed in 1936. The Irish government owned the airline for most of its history. However, currently, it is owned by International Airlines Group. This is the parent company of British Airways and Iberia. Aer Lingus is a former Oneworld alliance member, as it left the alliance in 2007. A few years ago, the company CEO announced that the airline has no plans on rejoining the alliance, even though IAG’s airlines are all part of Oneworld. The Irish airline has multiple code-sharing agreements with airlines from various alliances, thus it sees no point in joining an alliance. Dublin airport is its main hub, while Cork, Belfast and Shannon. It currently has 50 aircraft in its fleet flying to 93 destinations domestically and internationally with many destinations in the United States. Aer Lingus recently announced new routes to Montreal and Minneapolis. It mostly operates Airbus aircraft with a very distinct and recognizable green livery, to celebrate the company’s Irish heritage. However, Aer Lingus changed its livery at the beginning of 2019 to a more traditional and conservative paint scheme. It is also the official airline of the Irish national rugby team. Aer Lingus operates on a hybrid strategy: being a traditional airline on long haul routes and a low-cost carrier on short-haul routes. That has allowed the airline to survive and later on, to thrive. Its profits and passenger numbers keep rising, which means a chance for you to grow your aviation career in Aer Lingus! If you wish to join Aer Lingus, careers are available for First Officers, Captains, Cabin Crew members and engineers. If you would like to join a company which connects Ireland with the globe, do not miss your opportunity and apply now!
