Position Overview:

The Technical Services Engineer team at Flair plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the airline's fleet. This integrated team includes specialists in reliability, structures, airframe systems, electronic systems, powerplant systems, and maintenance programs. Responsibilities range from expediting aircraft return to service, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining structural health to overseeing program compliance and developing maintenance procedures. Collectively, the team works to optimize fleet performance and safety under the guidance of the Technical Services Manager or designate.

As a Technical Services Engineer at Flair, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our aircraft fleet. This role integrates responsibilities in both reliability and maintenance programs, providing a comprehensive approach to fleet management. Your key duties will include:
  • Maintain and enhance the scheduled maintenance program for Flair's fleet, ensuring compliance with company, manufacturer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support for modifications to both the reliability and maintenance programs, adapting to changes in aircraft utilization, staff levels, ground time, and route network.
  • Compile and issue monthly Reliability Statistics Reports, and regularly review Journey Logs, Delays/Cancellations, and Unscheduled Component Removals.
  • Investigate repetitive aircraft defects, in-service fleet problems, and complex requests from Line Maintenance, offering data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and implement custom maintenance program task cards, while evaluating Component/System Performance using In-Service Failure and maintenance data.
  • Lead monthly Fleet Performance & Dispatch Reliability meetings, and manage Data Collection, Analysis, Reporting, and Follow-up functions of the Reliability Program.
  • Liaise with vendors, Field Service Representatives, OEMs, and other engineering trades to ensure that maintenance and reliability issues are addressed and that any upgrades or improvements are integrated effectively.
  • Ensure the integration and continuous improvement of Maintenance Planning Documents, Maintenance Review Board requirements, Airworthiness Limitations, and other regulatory guidelines into scheduled maintenance task cards.
  • Support new aircraft inductions, internal/external audits, and business improvement initiatives, while optimizing scheduled maintenance visits and heavy maintenance programs.
  • Participate in maintenance status and planning meetings, acting as a key advisor in both the Reliability and Maintenance Programs.
  • Apply supplemental type certificates, instruct Continued Airworthiness requests, and ensure that all changes to maintenance programs are justified and technically sound.
  • Actively contribute to Flair's Safety Management System (SMS) program and perform the Fleet Manager role during their absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring the overall dependability and safety of Flair's fleet.

Qualifications & Requirements:

The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values of Respect, Integrity, Reliability, and Resilience while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical).
    • Hold a valid Transport Canada AME M, E, or S license.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of six (6) years of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer experience is preferred.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of Boeing aircraft experience preferred.
    • Boeing 737 NG and/or MAX endorsement is considered an asset.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations (CARs).
    • Knowledgeable in computer-based maintenance software, AMOS is considered an asset.
    • Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and data entry.

    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage projects to successful completion on tight timeframes.
    • Proven planning and organizational skills as well as attention to detail.
