Supervisor - Airport Services

Purpose

Reporting to the Superintendent - Transport, you will be responsible to lead and manage the day-to-day activities for the effective and efficient administering of airport operational, emergency, environmental, security and safety programs to ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant legislation.

Essential Duties

The role will have responsibility to

• Lead supervisor with authority over operations at the Aerodrome.
• Full authority to stop any aviation activity deemed to be unsafe.
• Drive safety culture ensuring a consistent alignment to aviation standards.
• Hold all workers in aerodrome accountable for compliance with aviation standards.
• Drive the efficient turnaround of aircraft within the strict limitations imposed.
• Provide a safety information service to aircraft
• Support management in matters with PNG CASA, Aviation Support Specialist and technical vendors who provide maintenance and support for aerodrome operations and compliance.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Training & Experience

Ideally, our preferred applicant will have;

• 3-5+ years relevant work experience in a leading Airport Operations role. Previous experience in the extractive industry is well regarded.
• Tertiary qualification will be an advantage.
• Qualifications in Airport Operations or extensive operational experience in related field essential.
• Specialised certification in Airport works desirable.
• PNG National Driver's License Class 6 is essential.
• Certificate in Workplace Assessment and Training or similar desirable.
• Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
• High attention to detail with good time management skills.
