Engineering’s ambition is to be one of the world’s highest performing, customer centric and progressive engineering teams and the role of the Senior Quality & Airworthiness Engineer is to oversee and govern the compliance regulatory and airworthiness requirements, while driving for continuous business improvement to ensure safe, complaint, reliable and cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality and Airworthiness section is responsible for Engineering activities related to
airworthiness, safety, compliance of all aircraft types operated by Cathay Pacific Airways and its customer airlines.

The Quality & Airworthiness Engineer is responsible for overseeing and governing the compliance regulatory and airworthiness requirements.

Responsible for:

  • Effectively supporting quality, safety and compliance related matters
  • Effectively conducting audits for Engineering, Line Stations, third party contractors specialized audits such as IFQP, De-icing as required
  • Providing QA support for local and overseas heavy maintenance inputs, perform aircraft hangar / ramp surveillance as required
  • Effectively performing assignments / projects as requested by team leader / manager
  • Overseas travel as required by job duty
  • Effectively supporting the activities on acquiring and maintaining the required approvals and privileges responsible by the Engineering organisation
  • Effectively supporting the Issuance and renewal of Aircraft Certificates of Airworthiness  renewals


  • Engineering degree or an Aircraft Maintenance Licence (or equivalent)
  • Typically, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in supervising and managing projects and cross functional teams.
  • Detailed aircraft knowledge and approval holder on majority of Cathay Pacific and its customers airline.
  • Excellent in communication, influencing and negotiation skills with service providers and customers.
  • Excellent analytical mind and problem solving skills to drive for excellence and quality performance.
  • Adaptable and responsive to change. Demonstrate ability to drive change and improvement.
  • Highly motivated and committed to drive for continuous improvement.
