As the MPI Lead Planning Engineer, you will design and execute precision-engineered maintenance programs that prioritize safety, compliance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Your expertise will optimize aircraft availability, champion continuous improvement, and uphold operational excellence across our fleet.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Programme & Implementation Team is responsible for delivering a compliant, optimised and effective Maintenance Program, in a package pattern that is aligned with the Maintenance philosophy while retaining maximum value in terms of aircraft availability, being cost effective, and accurately and precisely setup within the Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) system
The MPI Lead Planning Engineer is accountable for delivering a compliant and effective up to date Maintenance Program for a given set of fleet types
Responsible for:
- Leading a team of planning engineer to deliver an optimized maintenance programme, to manage and ensure the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) document, including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) maintenance documents are reviewed and recommendations are incorporated into the Cathay Approved Maintenance Schedule (AMS) in a timely manner to comply with all the company and regulatory requirements
- Ensuring that all policies and procedures put into place providing consistency and maintaining the overall process and data integrity in AMS programme and maintenance requirement set up
- Ensuring all applicable maintenance requirements are accurately and precisely set up in Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) system with the necessary procedure and process in place for on-going amendment and update to safeguard continuous compliance
- Ensuring structure process in place including regular review of non-routine findings during maintenance to verify the effectiveness of the maintenance programme
- Delivering an optimised maintenance packaging concept to best fit the operations of the airline to maximize aircraft availability in a cost effective way
- Participating and representing the airline in Industry Steering Committee, Maintenance Working Group, Maintenance Review Board and other related working groups to contribute the development of maintenance programme and voice out the concern of the airline
- Proactively driving digital transformation initiatives to deliver process and efficiency improvement and desired business outcomes
- Be the deputy of the Maintenance Programme & Implementation Manager in leading, coaching and developing junior team member(s) to ensure clarity and compliance with all the relevant company, legislative requirements, procedures or processes
Requirements
List requirements for the position:
- Engineering degree or Aircraft Maintenance Licence (or equivalent)
- Typically 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in aspects of aircraft maintenance programme management or maintenance planning role
- Experience of leading and delivering business process improvement
- Experience in leading a team of engineer
- Ability to build strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong written and oral communication skills
