Role Introduction

Reports to: IOC Duty Manager 

Departments: IOC - Integrated Operations Centre

The primary function of the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) is to ensure disruptions to the published schedule are kept to a minimum where possible. The IOC is tasked with making prompt decisions that uphold the on-time performance of the fleet, while also considering the financial implications and the goals of each department involved in providing exceptional customer service.

The IOC works 24/7 to provide support to our flight crew and ground employees in unexpected situations. We act as a first point of contact in an emergency and we help Flight Operations exercise operational control.

As an IOC Controller, you play a supportive role, assisting both the Coordinator and the Duty Manager in managing the daily operations of the IOC. This includes coordinating activities that impact the day-to-day effectiveness of the center.

You will be at the heart of our operations, coordinating and managing real time decision-making processes to optimize out flight schedules and enhance customer experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Coordinator in managing day-of-operations to ensure schedule integrity,and in implementing company procedures related to flight regularity, operationalsafety, security and On-Time Performance (OTP).
  • Monitoring the day-of-operations and ensuring problems are promptly brought to the Coordinator’s and Duty Manager’s attention for corrective actions.
  • Liaising closely with Crew Operations, Flight Dispatch, Customer Journey and Recovery, HKIA Hub Control, Maintenance Control and Maintenance Planning, Cargo Revenue Management as well as outports to ensure the effects of day-of- operation changes to the published schedule are implemented in accordance with company requirements.
  • Assisting the Coordinator or the Duty Manager in implementing crisis response
  • Compiling Daily Management Reports for senior management.

Requirements

  • Tertiary education, preferably specialised in aviation related disciplines
  • 3-5 years experience in operational or passenger handling areas
  • Knowledge of flight planning or crew flight time limitation requirements highly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent command of English is a must, ability to speak
  • other local languages such as Cantonese and/or Mandarin will be an added advantage.
  • Shift work is required.
