An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced individual to join their client’s team as the Ground Handling Manager. As the Ground Handling Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operation of the Ground Handling Department, ensuring exceptional services for crews and passengers while maximising apron and hangar space.

Key Responsibilities

Effective Team Management

  • Manage the Ground Handling Supervisor and provide performance management for all department members.
  • Be output-focused, ensuring high-quality services are delivered consistently.

Department Operations

  • Act as the main focal point for all Ground Handling inquiries.
  • Liaise with the Business Development Manager to manage all aircraft parking on the airport.
  • Ensure aprons and hangars are presentable and well-maintained.
  • Process and manage annual leave requests and report staff absences to the Operations Manager.

Roster Management

  • Manage the department roster, ensuring all shifts are adequately staffed.
  • Report any staffing issues to the Operations Manager promptly.

Staff Training

  • Deliver staff training to new team members.


  • Perform aircraft refuelling promptly, utilizing mobile fuel bowsers.
  • Manage Quality and Standards control checks for aviation fuelling activities.
  • Assist with tanker deliveries, ensuring safety and promptness.
  • Report and manage any issues affecting refuelling.
  • Monitor and maintain vehicles/equipment performance.

Ramp Operations

  • Monitor computer systems to ensure prompt customer service.
  • Effectively plan and manage aircraft parking allocation.
  • Manage the apron, including FOD checks and equipment storage.
  • Provide ground handling services such as toilet/water servicing, waste removal, ground power supply, and de-icing.
  • Conduct general duties to enhance airport operations.
