Job description

Understand, organize, plan, and execute technical analysis in accordance with SNC policies/procedures, work instructions and specific Customer requirements; this may include providing training and assistance to Engineering personnel in the preparation and execution of their activities. Areas of analysis may include:

  • Aircraft performance
  • Stability and Control
  • External Loads
  • Aerodynamics
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Thermodynamics
  • Acoustics
  • Icing
  • Flutter
  • Mass Properties management
  • Responsible for providing adequately trained and qualified analysis resources to Business Areas to ensure successful program execution
  • Responsible for engineering analysis process improvement
  • Directly manages and provides direction and oversight to aerospace and mass properties engineers
  • Career Development: assisting senior management in providing opportunities for career advancement and growth for engineering personnel that balances personal aspirations with company objectives
  • Prepare material for, and conduct, periodic progress reviews for senior management and appropriate customer representatives
  • Provide estimates of labor hours and material dollars required to accomplish analysis activities
  • Provide technical support and engineering expertise to Business Development activities and product demonstrations as required
  • Author, review and provide comments on ROMs and proposals
  • Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations (internal and external)
  • Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such as Time Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations (Anniversary and Annual), Salary Reviews, Succession Planning, etc.
  • Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team training and adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, and Compliance Regulations (internal and external)


  • Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, as defined by management


  • Bachelor's degree required in aerospace engineering, with a Master's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of managerial related experience
  • Previous experience in an aircraft production / modification environment (preferably a DOD contractor)
  • Previous experience managing an engineering organization highly desirable
  • Knowledge of FAA and Military analysis and certification requirements highly desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to motivate/work with others
  • Self-starter and a problem solver; must have the ability to see the big picture and implement changes as required
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, schedule programs, presentation software.


This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
