Job description
Team Lead Avionics Installer (Full-Time w/ available overtime)

Silverhawk Aviations Avionics department is seeking a Team Lead Avionics Installer. The position requires someone who is self-driven that requires very little supervision. More importantly though, is someone able to effectively train and manage a small group of installation technicians in a way that maximizes billable hours, minimizes call-backs, and provides a work/life balance.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is NOT an entry level position. Work schedule shall include (according to seasonal workloads) working overtime, nights, weekends, and may even involve being on-call during the holidays. The typical schedule is Monday Friday; 8 am to 5 pm w/ an hour off for lunch.

Work Environment

Work is performed in various hangar and ramp environments and includes some aviation considerations;
  • Periods of standing, periods of laying in, under and stooping over aircraft.
  • Periods of being in a cramped small space under panels.
  • Brief exposure to all types of weather conditions and loud noise levels.
  • Handling chemicals, tools, paint, and other potentially hazardous items.
Essential Functions
  • Train, motivate, and evaluate install technicians.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results; following schematics, maintenance manuals, and other technical documents.
  • Remove and install aircraft subsystems assemblies and components.
  • Use complex and specialized test equipment.
  • Complete required forms accurately to FAA and company standards.
  • Complete work within the allotted hours per the work order.
  • Provide insight on how to create better efficiency in the installation process
Requirements
  • Proven ability to teach, lead, and manage others.
  • Preferred 10 years of industry experience.
  • Preferred 5 years of experience with King Air and Citation 500 airframes.
  • Ability to read prints and work off of them.
  • Can construct/fabricate wire harnesses and electrical systems.
  • Preferred experience with Garmin products.
  • Ability to crimp, solder, and splice (and train others to do so).
  • Ability to meet Silverhawks Insurance carrier standards for driving company vehicles
  • Ability to fulfill FAA criminal background checks and pre-employment/on-going drug screening
