Job description
  • Reporting to the Quality Clinic/MRB Manager, the Materials Review Board Quality Engineer is responsible for the smooth flow of non-conforming product from defect generation through rework until integration back into regular production
  • Responsible for facilitating information flow between operations, quality, engineering and other groups to ensure timely processing of non-conforming product
  • Be familiar with manufacturing, surface finishing and assembly processes of metal landing gear components on a technical level to advise and facilitate integration of rework schemes into production
  • Read and understand engineering dispositions with sufficient depth to advise operations on conducting the work in an efficient and timely manner
  • Track and provide status on all critical parts in the MRB workflow at production planning meetings and to leadership
  • Produce metrics on performance of the MRB process and drive reduction of turnaround time, inventory and cost of non-conforming product
  • Interface with the Quality Clinic and other teams to prioritize investigation and corrective actions to reduce defect generation
  • Bachelor of Engineering or combination of equivalent education and technical experience
  • 1-2 years’ experience in metal manufacturing, preferably machine shop and plating/surface finishing
  • Ability to read drawings and understand GD&T, familiarity with CATIA or other 3D modeling an asset
  • Strong computer skills, SAP experience an asset
