Job description

Title: Senior Design Manager - Aviation

Location: Crawley

Salary: ?70-80K + Package

Aylin White have been instructed by a leading reputable main contractor with strong business across multiple disciplines.

This multi-award-winning company have a strong reputation in the market and offers the opportunity to work on multi-million pounds prestigious and landmark projects.

They are currently delivering a few mixtures of projects from small to large scale units within the Aviation sector and are looking for an experience candidate to join the established team.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager with extensive experience of managing design projects within the Aviation sector for top tier 1 main contractor. Ideally the candidate will also have experience of airport operations including baggage handling, screening, airport civils works, structural refurbishment and terminal operations.

Responsibilities

?Manage the design process during the pre-construction and as required, the construction phase.

?Fully investigate Value engineering and value creation opportunities.

?Interrogation of enquiry documents, in the form of an Employer's Requirements.

?Production of a Contractor's Proposal document in liaison with other internal departments.

?Manage the design process via external consultants.

?Drive innovative and cost-effective solutions into the design.

?Progress design issues within a strict timescale & ensure designer meet information delivery dates.

?Review Sub contractor design proposals.

?Verify & control status of consultants and subcontractors' drawings and specifications & maintain registers.

?Ensure the consultant scope of services, responsibilities and fees are agreed.

?Facilitate the completion of a project risk register.

?Attend tender launch /tender adjudication and launch meetings as required.

Desired Person

To be successful in this role you will need to be a leader who can motivate multiple teams and take direct reports of other employees. A well-rounded manager who has strong Aviation experience and will understand the potential hurdles a project of this scale could hold.
