Job description
As a part of Cobham Special Mission we're currently recruiting for a Aviation Safety Advisor - Engineering to be directly responsible to the Head of Compliance, Safety & Security for the coordination of all engineering safety related activities for CAvS UK. The role provides direct support to the Accountable Manager and Nominated Postholders for safety-related activity within the Engineering and Technology Departments and is required to support, drive and perform safety functions both independently and as directed.

The prime location is the Cobham Aviation Services facility located at Hurn, Christchurch.

As an Aviation Safety Advisor - Engineering your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

* Sound knowledge of Aviation Safety Management principles and practices

* Broad knowledge and experience in Aviation Engineering Operations

* Previous experience in safety related roles or equivalent qualifications

* Previous Civil and/or Military engineering experience, sufficient to understand the systems that support the organisation

* Sound knowledge of Civil and Military Aviation Regulations - EASA, CAA, MAA, etc?

As an Aviation Safety Advisor - Engineering your main responsibilities will involve:

* Providing support for the effective management of the safety reporting system, to facilitate the identification, risk analysis and management of hazards to ensure that all unacceptable risk is eliminated, or reduced, to an acceptable level.

* Providing periodic feedback on engineering and technology safety performance in relation to the safety policy and objectives.

* Providing support in the development of safety related manuals, procedures and other relevant documentation.

* Providing support for safety management training.

* Ensure initial and timely follow up of internal occurrence reports and safety investigations, making recommendations to ensure effective remedial action.

* Promote and develop the Company's Just Safety Culture.

* Coordinate matters of strategic safety, through the Safety Review Meetings, Safety Action Groups, Occurrence Review Meetings and Daily Risk Assessment Meetings in support of the Accountable Manager's safety accountability.

* Updating, controlling and managing the Change Management Register

* Updating, controlling and managing the Hazard & Risk Register

* Providing a focal point for Regulatory Safety Management System advice to all EASA Part M, Part 145 (Including MRP Part 145), Part 21.G and Part 21.J Departments.

* Providing a focal point for Safety Management System advice to the Technology Department.

* Ad Hoc / Out-of-Hours work during urgent / unforeseen business requirements.

* Domestic / International travel as required.

* Any other reasonable duties, which may requested that falls within the scope / capability of the incumbent.
