Job title: Electrical Mechanical Fitter

Salary: ?26,500 depending upon experience Plus Benefits

Location: Stansted, Essex

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Mechanical Fitter to be responsible for maintaining aircraft ground support equipment, including Integrated Drive Generators (IDG's) and Constant Speed Drives (CSD's). An excellent opportunity to join an Aerospace Component Engineering company who require an Electrical Mechanical Fitter to join their team.

Electrical Mechanical Fitter Requirements:

* Previous experience of IDG's / CSD's would be an advantage

* ONC / HNC Engineering (desirable)

* Previous knowledge of GSE and Gen Sets required

* Electrical Mechanical Experience

* Overhauling generators within an Aerospace background would be ideal

* Previous lapping and honing experience preferred

* Practical working experience of pistons and piston blocks, wobblers, governors and pumps

* Ability to work well in multidiscipline/cross-functional teams

* Numerate and literate - minimum GCSE ( or equivalent) Maths and English

Electrical Mechanical Fitter Responsibilities:

* Strip down, maintain, repair and overhaul work

* To dismantle generators / IDG's down to their sub / individual components

* To undertake overhaul / repair procedures in accordance with CMM's & Overhaul Manuals

* Ability to fault find and rectify issues

* Overhaul and repair of IDGs and generators, as required, and their associated sub-assemblies

* Disassembly, cleaning, inspection, fault finding, repair and build.

* Operate a variety of test equipment to include bore gauges, verniers, micrometers, digital multi-meters

* Using Hi pot testers, presses, balancing equipment, lapping machines, sodium lights and soldering irons

* Assemble generators / IDG's ready for final testing

* Generator, power unit and aircraft support equipment

* Ability to understand maintenance and quality manuals

* Adhere to Health and Safety requirements and take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and others at all times
