Job description
The candidate will provide flight test engineering support to the CH-53K Integrated Test Team (ITT) at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Divsion (NAWCAD) as a member of the AIR-5.1.6 Air Vehicle Test & Evaluation Department.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide flight test engineering expertise in the disciplines of flying qualities/flight controls, structures/dynamics, and propulsion/mechanical systems.

Support System Development & Demonstratrion (SDD) phase testing of the CH-53K to include: flight loads survey, structural demonstration, GAU-21 gunfire, aerial refueling, and IMC certification.

Support test execution from the telemetry room.

Support on-aircraft instrumentation checkouts and participate substantially in test planning, data analysis, and deficiency reporting.

Travel to off-site ship and shore-based locations for testing activities.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years of experience is required.

An active Secret security clearance is required.

Experience with the development and test & evaluation (T&E) of aircraft and aircraft weapon systems.

Direct experience in one or more of the following areas: aircraft flying qualities and flight controls, conduct of aircraft development and T&E, structures, aircraft propulsion, power systems, and system/subsystem design, development and T&E.

Desired Skills:

Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test and evaluate aircraft and aircraft related systems.

Review and prepare engineering technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other technical documentation.

Apply engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.

Perform complex T&E of hardware or software related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapon systems or associated support systems.
