Job description
We are representing a rapidly expanding Kent based Aerospace engineering organisation with a prestigious client base and a full order book. Due to a period of impressive sustainable growth, they seek an accomplished Project Engineer to hold responsibility for new product introduction related projects

Owning projects from cradle to grave, the project engineer will be involved in all aspects of new product introduction, from prototype to full manufacture, working through a controlled, gated process. Along with close customer liaison, the project engineer will also work in partnership with subcontract suppliers on any outsourced aspect of the project and create and manage all technical documentation for a high quality, safety critical product range.

Key skills

* An experienced NPI Engineer or Project Engineer or Production Engineer with previous experience in new product introduction ideally in an Aerospace or Automotive environment

* Experienced in project management, working on several projects concurrently, and using tools such as GANTT charts, MS Project, MS Excel for successful planning and execution

* Familiar with working to structured, gated processes to deliver NPI (APQP, FMEA, PFMEA, PPAP)

* Good understanding of root cause problem solving techniques - 8D, A3, Ishikawa etc.

* Experience using 2D and 3D CAD

* Understanding of Engineering Change processes

* FAIRS reporting desirable - not essential

* Understanding of some or all of the following manufacturing processes is highly advantageous - machining, injection moulding, casting, forging

* Ideally qualified to HNC/HND level in mechanical engineering or related discipline
