Job description

On behalf of our Part-135 client in Texas, we are recruiting a Director of Maintenance.


The Director of Maintenance is responsible for supervision and coordination of all aircraft maintenance activities and personnel and for establishing maintenance control of the fleet aircraft. The DOM is responsible for the administration of the aircraft maintenance program to accomplish safe, on-time performance of Company schedules. The DOM may delegate functions listed below to other personnel but retains responsibility.


  • Assign, monitor and document all training activities of maintenance personnel
  • Supervise all maintenance activities including overhauls, modifications, maintenance and repair of aircraft structures, engines and accessories that are accomplished IAW manufacturer’s data and current CFR’s
  • Schedule aircraft maintenance on a first priority basis considering factors as flight schedules and parts availability
  • Assure all required aircraft maintenance records are maintained in a current status
  • Assign maintenance personnel duties
  • Submit mechanical irregularity reports and mechanical interruption reports to the Director of Operations
  • Insure personnel have a thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance manuals, applicable CFR’s and applicable portions of the Company manual. Assist with updates and insure manuals are readily available to all personnel
  • DOM is close liaison with local FAA maintenance inspectors and assigned FAA principals concerning current maintenance and inspection programs
  • Coordinate all contract maintenance to Company aircraft
  • Schedule maintenance overhaul and inspection
  • Recommends properly trained and qualified mechanics to the Chief Inspector to be designated as Delegated Inspectors
  • Insure all work accomplished by mechanics is completed in an efficient and quality manner
  • Insure all maintenance facilities, machinery, tools and equipment are kept in a clean and orderly working condition and that they meet safety standards
  • Insure all maintenance personnel are familiar with Approved Minimum Equipment List
  • Review the data developed by the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance program
  • Prepare and submit the monthly utilization report to the Principal Maintenance Inspector as designated by the FAA
  • Must be available and able to work a full-time schedule estimated at least 40 hours a week
  • Must be able to work from the assigned office on a full-time basis


  • Minimum of 10yrs of Part 135 maintenance experience
  • Minimum of 5yrs experience as a Part 135 Director of Maintenance
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve in a fast pace environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
