Job description

Overall responsibility:

The Communications Manager will play a key role within the Corporate Communications department of Wizz Air which manages the reputation of the company, develops brand awareness and secures international press.

Responsibilities include:

  • Represent the company at trade fairs and media events and act as spokesperson
  • Cultivate relationships with key business journalists in national and trade publications across Europe
  • Develop compelling story angles
  • Pitch stories to media. Achieve highest visibility for in print, broadcast, TV and online media outlets in all 44 Wizz Air markets (and growing)
  • Assist production of events’ pre & post production
  • Coordinate activities of external agencies
  • Draft clear and compelling communications materials such as presentations and releases and update boilerplate, data sheets and maintain department archives
  • Media tracking and tabulation
  • Update contact data bases
  • Coordinate and channel media requests and enquiries in a timely manner
  • Handle approved press releases
  • Update key messages and media FAQs where required
  • Keep current with marketing trends, innovations, communication techniques and any media regulations
  • Identify key media outlets
  • Develop and maintain country fact sheets
  • Update intranet with latest communications, department updates, etc. if required
  • Support production of varied newsletters (graphics, pictures, content, layout, etc.)
Requirements

Requirements:

  • Degree in Communications / Marketing / Business related subject
  • 5+ years relevant experience in public relations and communications, preferably both from corporate and agency side
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills
  • Solid writing skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken both English and Polish
  • Availability for international travel up to 50% of the time
  • Effective research and administrative skills
  • Initiative, eye for details and a team player, quick thinker
  • Resourceful, flexible and responsive in dealing with people
  • Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
