Tasks

You will be primarily responsible for leading the systems engineering for subsonic/supersonic and hypersonic flights. You will be a part of our engineering team and interact with all engineering disciplines to resolve new issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system design for vehicles, working from mission design inputs
  • Lead system engineering documentation including functional and performance requirements, interfaces, system diagrams, equipment lists, operating and maintenance procedures to implement the engineering solutions.
  • Lead internal review processes at system level
  • Assist in system integration of new or previously operated aircrafts.
  • Provide technical support and guidance in aircraft operations.
  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting repairs and malfunctions.
  • Provide support for subcontractor work and requirements definition and management
  • Guide and supervise engineering staff in aircraft development, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all developments, repairs and modifications follow company regulations and standards.
  • Perform technical risk assessments of aircraft design and assist in the preparation of risk mitigation plans.
  • Assist in bids and proposals
  • Participate in industrial meetings, conferences, trainings, committees, etc as needed.
  • Provide other support as needed.

Requirements

  • BS., or MS. in an Aerospace or a related discipline.
  • Required experience in a Aircraft Systems Engineering BS – 8 years, MS – 6 years;
  • Demonstrated capabilities in CAD software for advanced flight vehicles
  • Knowledge of aerodynamics, propulsion, structures and mechanisms will be a plus
  • Experience in proposal, design, build, test, operation, and maintenance phases.
  • Ideally experience on both small and large vehicles.
  • Experience of C++ / Python / MATLAB programming.
  • Experience of laboratory, ground, and flight test.
  • Participation in certification process.
  • Good communication skills, proactive attitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work to strict timescales as part of an integrated, multidiscipline team, as well as autonomously; and
  • The ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment are required.
  • Knowledge of the English language is required.Knowledge of the French or German language is an advantage
