Job description

Role Introduction

Reports To: Duty Manager Integrated Operations Centre

Department: IOC - Integrated Operations Centre

 

To assist the DMIOC to manage the day-of-operations and take corrective actions to ensure schedule integrity.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all operational issues that relate to schedule integrity, safety and security of Cathay Pacific and Air Hong Kong.
  • Keeping the Duty Manager IOC informed of any significant disruptions, and any other disruptions that may affect relevant sections within the three airlines.
  • Identifying and analyzing problems that may affect normal operations, as well as 
  • implementing and coordinating corrective actions.
  • Coordinating information flows with Crew Operations Executives, Flight Dispatch 
  • Coordinators, Maintenance Controllers, Maintenance Planners, Assistant Managers Customer Journey and Recovery, HKIA Hub Control staff, Cargo Revenue Duty Officers and outport personnel.
  • Coordinating Corporate Incident or Emergency and Accident response procedures as directed by the Duty Manager IOC.
  • Ensuring the IOC Controllers perform their duty in a satisfactory and professional manner.
  • Deputizing as Duty Manager IOC when required.
  • Maintaining operational and technical knowledge by attending initial and refresher courses as stipulated in the IOC Training and Development Manual.
  • Attending other operational courses as required by the Head of IOC.
  • Fulfilling the annual Route Familiarization requirement.

Requirements:

Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of operations control, crewing, flight dispatch, customer services and cargo.
  • Understanding of airline commercial factors.
  • Understanding of aircraft Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL) and Dispatch Deviation Guides (DDG).
  • Ability to interpret operational information, e.g. Notams, weather forecasts.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.

Experience

  • Minimum seven years in airline industry, preferably in operations control.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
