Reports to: Maintenance Standards and Safety Manager
Department: Engineering (ENG)

Role Introduction
Responsible for execution of engineering maintenance strategy to strengthen the oversight on maintenance services providers to ensure airworthiness standards are maintained in accordance with CPA requirements in support of the airline vision to become one of the world’s greatest service brands by ensuring a safe, compliant and reliable operation.

Key Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the compliance with CAD360 Part 2 requirements to perform quality checks on aircraft in-service and aircraft in scheduled maintenance. The job holder will monitor continuous compliance to maintenance procedures and adherence to Cathay Pacific Airways Engineering requirements and align maintenance standards expectations by MROs. The job holder is responsible for reducing risk of maintenance errors through surveillance and maintenance process observations.

  • Performing aircraft, line and base maintenance standards surveillance, for Cathay Pacific Airways (CPA) and its customer airlines.
  • Performing Aircraft Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A) inspection to support the C of A annual renewal requirement.
  • Driving for changes in maintenance process to reduce hazards, and to improve maintenance standards of MROs.
  • Reporting aircraft condition and maintenance instructions related issues to with Engineering internal sections.
  • Raise Quality Discrepancy Report (QDR) if the findings involve maintenance and inspection standards issues.
  • Performing line station audits as required to support Engineering audit program.
  • Ensuring proper execution of maintenance survey program.
  • Regular review of survey strategy and survey scope for systemic improvements.
  • Analysing and following up MST Key Performance Index (KPI) figures and prepare for KPI meeting with MROs.
  • Performing roster duty including night shift, weekend and public holiday duty.

  • Engineering degree or Aircraft Maintenance Licence
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in supervising and managing projects and cross functional teams.
  • Detailed aircraft knowledge and approval holder on majority of Cathay Pacific / Air Hong Kong types.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills for dealing with service providers and internal customers.
  • Excellent analytical mind and problem solving skills to drive for excellence and quality performance.
  • Adaptable and responsive to change. Demonstrate ability to drive change and improvement.
