Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation. Oversee and administer all administration aspects for Line Maintenance, YYZ. This includes regulatory training, soft skills training, etc. Responsible for scheduling and manpower and ensuring all admin policies and procedures are adhered to. Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the development of the department’s training plan, monitor results and present at weekly meetings.
  • Develop reports for effectively managing all training and ensure training meets Operational Requirements and present weekly.
  • Liaise with ACTS to implement training requirements. Ensure mandated training has been completed by the employees (approx 900), follow up with managers. 
  • Ensure training is completed in compliance with Airworthiness regulations. 
  • Maintain corporate polices and procedures and communicate changes.
  • Assist/support administration staff on ongoing system and process changes. 
  • Participate in IT improvements and system changes in relation to Time and Attendance, and Maintenance Qualifications, etc. 
  • Improve and streamline payroll processes between ACM, Administrators and HR COE.  
  • Resolve and authorize employee and administrator issues with HR COE such as: pay scale issues, pay cheque issues, sick pay issues, department issues, policies and process, out of town assignments and any other issues that affect customer satisfaction. 
  • Authorize Union time off requests, timebank requests, shift trades, vacation changes, etc.
  • Negotiate with local shop committee on all issues regarding manpower, transfers, vacation allotments, training, employee issues, postings, processes, etc. Liaise with Labour Relations when required.
  • Review manpower requirements regularly and ensure adequate manpower available. Implement any necessary changes.
  • Review manpower requirements and post crew vacancy bulletins. Reviewing awards with the shop committee and action per department requirements. Negotiate and implement shift and vacation bids per operational requirements.
  • Develop, implement and maintain management schedules and vacation. Review weekly coverage. When necessary, organize and change management schedules and upgrade when necessary.
  • Process and monitor staffing levels and process staffing requisitions as required.  
  • Process all layoffs and recalls when required.
  • Assist in recruiting process when required.
  • Work with Disability Management and Line Maintenance Director relating to WSIB, Absenteeism and Rehab processes.
  • Establish strong and effective working relationships with Management Team and internal customers to ensure efficient manpower/training plan.
  • Assist Management Team in resolving administrative issues.
  • Concentrate on activities that will optimize a return to the business by carefully considering their implied costs and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal 
  • Ability to negotiate with unions and management, 
  • Excellent computer skills (Streamline, Excel, Word), 
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures and previous budget experience an asset.  
  • Positive attitude and results oriented
