Provide initial assessment for Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives.

Evaluate and prepare cost/benefit analysis for AD & Service Bulletins and other technical information (AMM, IPC, SWPM, WDM, SSM, etc).

Provide engineering & technical support to the new B767-300 Freighters: During cargo conversion, reliability package, develop new Avionics Standard’s as per Flight Ops requirements. Communicate with Fleet Transaction, Project team and SP for any Avionics requirements/mandates.

Participate with introduction of the new B767 cargo fleet: BDSF, new 300F and BCF.

Disseminate technical information to staff as required through the implementation of fleet campaigns, EC, EI, etc.

Provide technical support to MOC, TSS, Line Maintenance, MRO’s and to provide technical input to Material Control, Planning, MEL Expeditors and Line Maintenance.

Assist in work specification development for HMV & LMV coordination and oversight of heavy maintenance activities.

Assist with the Reliability Program (RWG) and provide delay analysis (AOG, OOS, cancellations, ATB) and corrective action programs.

Assist with aircraft weight and balance control & with maintaining NAV/DATA/GPS Terrain Data and ELT databases.

Assist in aircraft modification programs, special projects, and fleet acquisitions (developing EI’s, EC related to AD/SB). Supporting Fleet transactions and Project Engineering to any new mandates related to Avionics.

Assist with revisions to Minimum Equipment List (MEL) manuals as required.

Assist in preparing Quarterly ETOPS reporting to Boeing.

Be knowledgeable about all company and government manuals/documents pertaining to the work.

Communicate with MOC, TSS, Ops Managers and Maintenance senior management.

Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Support the Maintenance Program Manager to enhance the Maintenance program based on reliability data.

Participate in any airworthiness investigation related to Avionics Specialty.

Assist with Software Management & Control and Software distribution. Provide Software loading control and proper technical documentation.

Participate and support any Air Canada AEO’s internal delegation (projects, STC’s, Minor and Major modification’s) as per TCCA requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or other technical discipline or equivalent.
-
Must be a member (or eligible) of a professional engineering association.

5 years of experience in aviation industry focus on avionics system.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English – French is an asset.

Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulation will an asset.

Excellent knowledge in aircraft avionics system, especially B767.

Team player with effective communication skills and strong customer focus.

Pride in accuracy and good work presentation to the satisfaction of internal customers.

Self-starter requiring minimum supervision with good decision-making ability.

Strong analytical skills and ability to co-ordinate details to successful conclusion.

Willingness to be on call and to work additional time when required

Solid knowledge of most commonly used PC software as well as MS Project

Availability to travel overseas for training, industry meetings, etc.

Must be clear of any restrictions which will prevent entry into other countries.
