Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation. The GSE Maintenance Planning Manager will have full responsibility for the maintenance planning activity and execution including daily operational planning for the fleet and ensuring proper communication with all stakeholders.   Accountabilities (Responsibilities): (Budget, Impact Influence, Supervisory extend required)
  • Consistent review of the maintenance manuals to ensure most up to date technical aids, best practices and procedures are applied to Air Canada programs
  • Execute a solid Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI) planning forecast within operational sensitive timelines
  • Monitor requirements to make sure any regulatory requirement changes are implemented into the maintenance program.
  • Participate in review of maintenance scheduling at time of equipment induction. 
  • Implement the scheduled maintenance requirement into Air Canada maintenance program.
  • Ensure the correct maintenance tasks are setup for routine reliability related requirements that have been determined by technical working groups.
  • Review the validity of maintenance tasks periodically to keep the schedule maintenance tasks efficient.
  • Set up repetitive inspection requirement from the structure repair carried out on equipment as identified by engineers, regulatory. 
  • Optimize warranty opportunities for task and monetary recovery.
  • Participate in the development of Preventative Maintenance Inspections, involving planning and frontline technical teams ensuring plan is the best fit to every stakeholder’s needs.
  • Support decision making and disposition of equipment unserviceability factors minimizing out of service downtime
  • Participate in meetings and ensure all mandatory routine schedule maintenance requirements are captured.
  • Support our operation groups with effective communications for optimal out of service timelines / MEL factors
  • On-site support maintenance activities as required, evaluate task effectiveness, identify duplications, follow up action for check findings and reports, etc.
  • Involve the component reliability and optimization activities, evaluate the effectiveness of Pub 87 manual. 
  • Run shop inventory levels to forecast and fulfil PMI planning effectively and efficiently thereby ensuring a seamless execution of PMI planning with scheduled PMI parts

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Air Canada ground support equipment maintenance program, development, processes and its related regulatory environment
  • Experience in relevant areas of airline technical operations 
  • Strong sense of initiative, creativity and continuous process improvement 
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and teamwork skills 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Demonstrated accountability and leadership
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to organize programs 
  • An engineering or a technical background is a strong asset 
  • Must be familiar with Office software, primarily Excel
  • M5 and I Ramp requirements set up knowledge is an asset
