Role Introduction

 

Reports: Inventory Operations and Logistics Manager

Departments: ENG - Engineering

The Inventory Principal (Operations and Logistics) is responsible for delivering a cost effective and timely inventory and logistics support to the airline’s maintenance activities in line and outstations. Primary responsibilities include leading the Inventory Management duty (IOCT and COET) as well as representing Inventory Management team for liaising and interfacing with various parties in the the Centre of Excellence, Integrated Operations Centre and Cabin Maintenace Centre and other Engineering teams to ensure Operational excellence, and close loop review of operational events to draw conclusions and lead improvement initiative. The Inventory Principal is expected to support all Inventory Transformation Operational leading Practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the Inventory management duty resources and support 24/7 operations.
  • Resolve critical aircraft material shortages in HKG and Outstations.
  • Deliver operational excellence by defining an outport parts support strategy, as well as defining and overseeing outport parts handling processes covering both availability and return of parts.
  • Carry out a close loop review of Operational events, draw conclusions and drive improvement initiatives by working with all ENG sections
  • Initiate and lead the LEAN projects to streamline operational processes and reduce maintenace costs. Focus on improving demand behavior, and reduce material cycle teams by minimizing parts return times and unused returns.
  • Liaise with the Suppliers, Planning and Technical team on maintenance task rescheduling due to material shortages.
  • Oversee and manage the parts demand and reservation process to minimise duplicate orders, order cancellations, unused returns and component return times.
  • Cost and budgetary control of LM material expense.
  • Assist the Inventory Operations and Logistics Manager in developing the functional strategies and dashboards.
  • Lead INV transformation Operational Leading Practices

Requirements:

Requirements

 

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in aviation, supply chain or engineering industry.
  • Degree in Engineering/Aerospace or Logistics discipline or other engineering field. Alternatively, other relevant qualifications, combined with extensive practical experience in airline material management.
  • Strong aircraft technical knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills and process-oriented.
  • Good knowledge of the aviation supply chain.
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness and acumen.
  • Ability to use data to initiate improvement on cost and process.
  • Strong supplier management, communication, influencing and negotiation skills.  Able to build and maintain collaborative relationships with counterparts.
  • Drive for excellence.
  • Adaptable and responsive to change.
  • Ability to lead projects independently and effectively.
  • Strong business acumen. Ability to lead the team to explore options on parts sourcing and AOG recovery.
  • Ability to use IT tools and applications to perform data analyses.
