Job description

Role Introduction

 

Reports To: Quality Manager Engineering

Departments: ENG - Engineering

Responsible for the oversight and governance of compliance on regulatory and airworthiness requirements with regards to HKCAD Air Operator Certificates (AOC) Part II and other approvals issued by HKCAD and foreign authorities in support of the airline vision to become one of the world’s greatest service brands by ensuring a safe, compliant and reliable operation.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • The Quality and Airworthiness section is responsible for Engineering activities related to
  • airworthiness, safety, compliance of all aircraft types operated by Cathay Pacific Airways and its customer airlines.
     
  • Represent Engineering liaising with authorities and customers airlines on related quality, safety and compliance matters
  • Ensure compliance of Aircraft Certificates of Airworthiness (CoA) and organisational approvals including regulatory and budgetary compliance.
  • Represent Engineering liaising with HKCAD and CX FOP on avionics related Ops Approval.
  • Conducting audits for Engineering, Line Stations, third party contractors specialized audits such as IFQP, De-icing as required
  • Providing QA support for local and overseas heavy maintenance inputs, perform aircraft hangar / ramp surveillance as required
  • Leading and conducting investigation on all Engineering accountable occurrences and conducting independent internal investigation adapting the MEDA philosophy. 
  • Performing Safety Data Analysis for supporting occurrence investigation, fulfilling Departmental Safety meetings and Safety Management System Program requirements.
  • Providing QA support for store inspection process as required, supervise subcontractor / vendor Assessment, lease engine AN16 process as required
  • Performing assignments / projects as requested by team leader / manager to drive business process improvement
  • Overseas travel as required to conduct audit under audit programme
  • Acquiring and maintaining the required approvals and privileges responsible by the Engineering organisation which generate significant revenue to the company.
  • Monitoring fleet and Engineering airworthiness compliance
  • Issuing C of A renewals for the CX fleet as well as C of A for newly inducted aircraft based on airworthiness and certification compliance review.
  • Maintaining systems of quality assurance, audit and surveillance to ensure aircrafts and equipment, wherever situated, are maintained in accordance with the approved standards
  • Obtaining approval of variations to approved data from the relevant regulatory authorities.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree or Aircraft Maintenance Licence
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
     
  • Proven experience in supervising and managing projects and cross functional teams.
  • Detailed aircraft knowledge and approval holder on majority of Cathay Pacific and its customers airline.
  • Excellent in communication, influencing and negotiation skills with service providers and customers.
  • Excellent analytical mind and problem solving skills to drive for excellence and quality performance.
  • Adaptable and responsive to change. Demonstrate ability to drive change and improvement.
  • Highly motivated and committed to drive for continuous improvement.
