We have been commissioned by a one of the world’s largest providers of training to the civil and military markets to source a Technical Manager on a permanent basis for their facilities in the Southeast.

The primary focus as the Technical Manager will be to manage the Technical Operations/Simulator Technicians Department to ensure the functionality of the simulators on site including installation, acceptance and relocation of simulators.

Key Responsibilities: 

•    To ensure that the Training Equipment and maintenance operation meet the requirements of the Regulatory Authorities standards.
•    To ensure the Training Equipment is ready for Regulatory Initial and Recurrent Evaluations, as necessary.
•    To develop and implement local Quality Procedures for day-to-day operation of the Training Equipment.
•    To schedule all maintenance activities for the Training Equipment and ensure compliance to the relevant regulations with technical updates.
•    To maintain an ongoing status of deficiencies existing on the Training Equipment, ensuring that they are rectified in a timely manner.
•    To manage the logistics functions associated with the Training Equipment (e.g., spares and repairs) and to recommend additional purchases as appropriate.
•    To liaise with the equipment manufacturer for equipment updates. To implement a quality assurance program that includes performance measures for training device reliability.
•    Co-ordinate the work of the Shift Leaders and specialists by giving guidelines, instructions, and directives.  Coach the Shift leaders to the level where they can deputise in all priority matters of the technical business operation and in all other matters. 
•    With the assistance of the Shift Leaders, manage the simulator maintenance team, recruiting staff, allocating them to shifts and tasks, directing their work, setting objectives, providing training and appraising performance.
•    Liaise with local teams and support devices situated in satellite centres that come under the purview of the Operations leader
•    With the assistance of the Shift leaders, manage the logistics and facilities team, recruiting staff, allocating tasks, directing their work, setting objectives, providing training and appraising performance.
•    Any other duties as required by the Operations Leader.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

•    Extensive simulation techniques experience of computer systems, simulation software design methodologies, interfaces, hydraulics, instructor stations, image generators and display systems.
•    Thorough knowledge and experience of the relevant EASA Standards and their specific requirements.
•    Good aircraft system knowledge on various aircraft types.
•    Knowledge of logistic processes.
•    Knowledge of IT and Quality procedures.
•    Team management skills and experience.
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Good PC skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
