Job description

Zenon is delighted to be commissioned by one of the UK’s Premier FBO & Maintenance Repair Organisations to source a FAIRs Quality Inspector on a permanent basis for their facilities based in Stansted.

The successful candidate will be tasked to carry out FAIRs and inspection duties within a fabrication facility. Ensure compliance to drawing and customer specifications. Ensure internal/external procedures, standards and specifications are adhered to. Liaise with customers and team members to facilitate NCR closure. Have an active role in ensuring corrective/preventive actions have been put in place. Provide technical support to the inspection team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:-

• Meet targets in line with customer and business requirements.

• Conduct stage inspection on fabrication and machined components. Ensuring they meet design requirements.

• Ensure job and traveler cards are signed and stamped in full.

• Compile and complete first article inspection reports.

• Complete first off inspection and ensure compliance before moving into full production.

• Manage NCRs and assist in 8Ds, 5Ys, Root cause etc. investigations with internal and external personnel.

• Partake in internal and external audits where required, ensuring any findings are addressed and closed out.

• Record and communicate findings and information effectively.

• Review specifications, ensuring SOPs are followed if/where provided.

• Work to company procedures and policy, and in line with AS9100 and ISO 9001.

• Partake in daily management boards and provide data on quality KPIs.

• Ensure subcontracted parts meet design requirements upon receipt.

• Undertaking MRB’s on internal and external non-conformances to determine disposition.

• Comply with all safety regulations. Keep work area tidy and work within 3 and 5S guidelines.

• Assist the quality team in upholding and the daily running of the company QMS.


Minimum Skills and Experience:-

• Able to interpret drawings and using inspection equipment and methods to ensure parts conform to customer specification.

• Have a high level of understanding in the completing of FAIRs.

• Able to work overtime and travel to other sites as required. (Overtime at 1.5x Hourly rate)

• Experience of using inspection equipment and methods such as Vernier calipers, Depth Gauges, Feeler Gauges, etc.

• G D & T knowledge.

• Prior role within an inspection environment and on tight tolerance products.
