Position: Manager Safety

CAE Parc Aviation are excited to announce we are now accepting applications for a Manager Safety on behalf of our client, based in Australia, a low-cost airline specialising in regional leisure destinations, with a fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8.

The successful candidate will lead the Safety Department and all elements of the Safety Management System.

Key Responsibilities Include:

The Safety manager has the freedom to act and make decisions on behalf of, and responsible to, the Accountable Manager in all Safety-related matters and the day-to-day management of the airline safety systems.

The Manager Safety is responsible for:

Promoting the flight safety awareness programme within the Company, acting as chairman of the Flight Safety Committee.

calling Company Flight Safety Committee meetings and ensuring distribution of the minutes of such meetings.

assessing, recording and distributing all Company Air Safety Reports and, where appropriate, forwarding as Mandatory Occurrence Reports to CASA.

conducting investigation into, and reporting on any accident, incident or occurrence involving a Company aircraft and/or crew in accordance with procedures defined in the Company Emergency Manual.

following such an event, taking necessary action to protect evidence and to avoid delay in the preparation of an accurate report.

co-opting personnel to participate in an investigation as and when necessary.

liaising with the appropriate authorities in the event of a reportable accident, incident or occurrence.

bringing to the attention of both the Accountable Manager and the Head of Operations any occurrence which indicates that the Company's procedures may need to be revised in the interests of flight safety.

ensuring the Head of Operations is made aware of industry safety information

representing the Company in bodies concerned with flight safety.

Collecting, collating and analysing flight safety information and ensuring the dissemination within the Company of that which is relevant to Company operations.

liaising with the Quality Assurance Manager on the submission of Occurrence Reports and making recommendations thereon.

FDM monitoring and the implementation of the FDM reporting system whilst ensuring the confidentiality of the received data and pilot involvement.

auditable accountability for all functions directly under their control

establishing and implementing a full safety management system

attendance and participation at the Monthly Board meeting.

recruitment, promotion and termination of Flight Safety personnel.

Coordinate with Safety Manager of the Part 142 organisation.

Requirements:

Candidate must have at least 5 years' experience in the aviation industry and 2 years in a similar role.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in Australia in line with government regulations
