Job description

The overall purpose of the position is to provide both the CV network and CV customers with support in relation to cargo loadability and ensure that commercial quality requirements are met. The position holder has to provide loadability solutions for heavy and/ or overhang cargo, lashing/ shoring solutions of cargo, liaise with the commercial department (Route Management, Charter) and/ or shipper/ forwarder including station/customer visit.

The position holder ensures compliance in regards to safety with the provisions of the eCare manual, the Security program and other corporate policies and all legal requirements.

Main area of responsibilities:

  • Provide loadability solutions of heavy and/or overhang cargo
  • Provide shoring and lashing solutions of heavy cargo
  • Provide charter evaluations (loadability, load plans and build-up plans)
  • Ensure customers' requirements are met and special handling instructions are communicated and followed
  • Potentially helping/assisting loading of offsize cargo
  • Assist and train new staff on the job in loadcontrol department
  • Ensure compliance in regard to Safety with the provisions of e Care manual, the Security program and other corporate policies and all legal requirements (e.g. compliance with Boeing Manuals, EASA regulations, FAA regulations)
  • Support implementation of new/updated guidelines, regulations and procedures
  • Providing any kind of required statistics to his/her superior
  • Ensure optimal use of resources (equipment and infrastructure)
  • Contribute to team effort and performance
  • Liaise with Network Management for coordination of turn arounds for heavy, offsize and/or overhang cargo
  • Prepare/ execute test loadings (e.g. aircraft engines, temperature settings ... )
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge
Requirements
  • General school leaving certificate of secondary education or equivalent (e.g. A-Level, BAG, Abitur)
  • At least 5 years working experience as qualified loading staff on B747-8F/400F
  • Proven practical experience in loading of heavy and offsize cargo
  • Profound knowledge of Aircraft systems (e.g cargo loading systems, environmental system)
  • Advanced knowledge in cargo handling and its related procedures
  • Be proactive, safety- and quality-oriented, take initiatives in a dynamic organization
  • Customer and result/ solution oriented, service-minded and global thinking
  • Action orientated, having the ability to take on new challenges with a sense of urgency
  • Feeling comfortable to work in a team as well as autonomously
  • Dealing effectively with complexity and having good problem-solving skills
  • Being able to take decisions within tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook), advanced knowledge of Excel would be considered as a distinct advantage
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages are a distinct advantage

Working conditions:

  • Position based in Luxembourg
  • Full time permanent position
  • A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Fuhrungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection
  • Occasional travel might be required
  • Category of the position will be based on the experience of the candidate
