On behalf of our part-135 client in Georgia, we are recruiting a Director of Operations.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Operations directs, and is responsible for all matters pertaining to Flight Operations, including regulatory compliance, all operations programs, and serves as Operations Advisor to the Company President. This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safe conduct of all Flight Operations in accordance with Company policy and FAA Regulations and Requirements
  • Coordinate with the Director of Maintenance to insure maximum efficiency of aircraft time for charter operations, maintenance, and flight training
  • Establish and uphold the standards and minimums for all flight activity
  • Exercise Operational Control over company aircraft and dispatching of pilots and flights under FAR Part 135
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
  • Planning, assigning, and directing employee work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and solving problems
  • Maintain system and procedures for maintenance of all permanent records, monitoring of crew duty and flight time, require rest periods, crew schedules and other flying activities
  • Direct the supervision of all Flight Operations, including joint responsibility with the Chief Pilot (i.e., canceling, delaying, or diverting any flight)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must demonstrate a strong knowledge and understating of all applicable regulatory requirements including but not limited to approved/accepted manuals, applicable FAR’s including Part 135 operations specifications, FAA Orders, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circulars, bulletins, aviation safety standards and safe operating practices, as well as maintenance and airworthiness requirements
  • Familiarity with international travel, international customs, and practices
  • Demonstrate ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities in a high-pressure and dynamic environment

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • ATP (Airline Transport Pilot License)
  • Must meet FAR 119.71
  • Previous experience as Director of Operations under Part 121 or 135
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with electronic record keeping, EFBs (electronic flight bags), FAA WEBOPSS, Wyvern Wingman standards and compliance, Microsoft Office Suite
  • US citizen, or have the right to live and work in the USA without visa sponsorship
