Job description
  1. Provide budgetary data on projects and issues as directed
  2. Report on the status of projects and issues as directed
  3. Issue instructions and documents to economically support operations and return aircraft to service in a safe, airworthy, and timely manner
  4. Develop and/or obtain approved data, acceptable data, and Alternate Methods of Compliance (AMOCs) for repairs, alterations, and modifications
  5. Update technical source documents as applicable to insure accuracy
  6. Support integration of new and previously operated aircraft
  7. Liaise with manufacturers; maintenance representatives, repair & overhaul (MRO) facilities; outside engineering departments; regulatory personnel; and other outside agencies
  8. Liaise with customers tech reps in order to benefit FLT in NRCs and MHs issues
  9. Evaluate Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs),EASA Regulations, Notices of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRMs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Service Letters (SLs), and other notifications of in-service issues
  10. Develop product improvement modifications
  11. Work with original equipment manufacturers on emerging issues to help ensure safety and airworthiness, but also minimize the economic impact
  12. Organize, develop and provide all necessary Structures Engineering documentation required to complete aircraft Systems modifications and repairs within the allocated time schedule and budget allowance
  13. Provide technical support to Base Maintenance personnel as required
  14. Coordinate with other Engineering staff to provide 24/7 technical support
  15. Review systems portion of the Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection Program, and initiate maintenance program changes and changes to maintenance documents

Requirements
  1. 10 years Aircraft Structures Engineering
  2. 5-7 years in applied engineering setting
  3. S. Engineering/Technical Engineering Degree (ME or AE) or equivalent experience
  4. Meets deadlines, daily attendance & punctuality standard
  5. Remembers & follows instructions, Work is thorough, Alertness, Commitment to task, Perceptivity, Produces accurate, dependable work, Output is consistent, Complete attention to detail
  6. Volume of work produced meets expectations
  7. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel
  8. Familiarity with aircraft and engine system components
  9. Strong technical skills and knowledge of large aircraft system design
  10. Ability to identify cost effective engineering solutions
  11. Excellent communication skills
  12. Ability to interface with manufacturers and regulatory agencies
  13. Some financial analysis skills required
