Flight Test Engineer - Level 4 Test Director. Responsibilities: The primary job responsibilities are, but not limited, to the following: Serve as the senior test representative responsible for the safe conduct and execution of test. Provide safety oversight and range coordination in the control room environment and ensure the accomplishment of all test objectives. Develop and publish detailed test plans, test schedules, and test procedures for developmental testing. Support and host test planning working groups. Contribute to test card development and review in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and test operations personnel. Conduct test readiness reviews, and pre/posttest briefings. Provide mission control room support and make real-time decisions regarding safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. Interface with test article design and analysis teams to define test configuration and data requirements. Conduct mission rehearsal training. Define test article configuration and identify assets, range, and frequency requirements. Conduct mission safety briefings including communications, safety limits, control room resource management (CRM), mishap procedures and the appropriate test hazard analysis (THAs). Candidate will work under only general direction to determine and develop approaches to solutions. Individual will work within a team environment and independently. This position will be based in Palmdale, CA. Some Travel may be required. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications : * A Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent from and accredited university. A minimum of 9 years of applicable experience with a BS or 7 years with a MS. * Current Top Secret clearance required, and must be able to obtain and maintain PAR. * Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work will occasionally be required. Preferred Qualifications : * In depth knowledge of or flight test experience, to include control room monitoring. Previous qualification as a Test Director.
