Job description
Position Purpose: Perform duties to ensure the safe conduct of flights to which they are assigned as well as ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Foreign regulations, as well as policies and procedures specified in the company operations manual. Comply with schedules and other directives governing the aircraft operation. Act as Pilot - in - Command (PIC) of flights for which the pilot has been scheduled. Ensure that preflight and post flight inspections are performed and that the aircraft is airworthy for flight. Study weather conditions at destination, en route, alternate airports and departure points. Prepare flight plans. Ensure that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers. Review and calculate the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts. Make decisions to: start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate. Compliance with company standard operating procedures. Coordinate the function of all crewmembers assigned to the flight. Monitor crew performance. Record aircraft discrepancies encountered in flight for maintenance corrective action.Qualifications:Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. License/Certification: Current Class 1 FAA medical certificate and a valid ATP certificate with type rating appropriate for the aircraft assigned to fly.
